Babel
Kirk arrives home and feels like he never left. It felt like only seconds have past, when it was actually 28 years.
"This is the last time for many things. (p 3)”
Or, so Kirk assumed.
"The trouble with odds was you could never really beat them, just avoid them for a while. In time everything evened out. (p. 4)"
Time is and always will be an abstraction, a mystery, never to be solved. A Vulcan and Kirk see the Guardian of Time and Forever. Kirk remembered the question the Guardian had stated the first time they met.
"A question since before your sun burned hot in space and before your race was born, I have awaited a question... (p. 4)"
The investigations of temporal distortions brought the Enterprise to this world, the world on the Edge of Forever. McCoy caused the destruction of the whole Federation and they all were trapped on the City on The Edge of Forever. Their only chance of restoring the time line was in their past, the time line was restored at the cost of Edith, Kirks, true love. No one was ever able to find the source of the Guardian.
Only one question, no one can agree to ask. It was immensely frustrating to not know how to communicate with the Guardian. Kirk asked if the Guardian remembered him to no response, then asked for the history of the world.
With no more future before me, did he hope in some way to return to the past? Are there going to be no more worlds to explore? No more battles to fight?
"He had captured a part of it in his life, imprinted a thousand worlds in his mind, had experiences and adventures that humans of centuries past could not conceive, and which humans of centuries to come could never repeat. (p. 7)"
"With the journeys end in sight, with the knowledge that it was time to put away those things left unfinished...doubts torture. Was life a simple tragedy of distractions from birth to death, with no more purpose then the stone before him? Why? The Guardian answered (p. 8)”
"A generation unborn at the turn of the millennium grew up with a fascination for those who had promised order and salvation in the midst of chaos. (p 9)"
Adrick Thorsen was a leader in the "optimum movement." This movement was determined not to repeat the mistakes that history proved. He woke every day to the thought that the destiny of the world was on his shoulders. He killed because of this, turning himself into those he despised, wanted to lead the world to an era of peace and prosperity, which would surpass all understanding.
He attempted to kill UN peacemakers, who were attempting to bring peace to the planets. He succeeded in the quest. He took Zepheran Cochrane’s place and made first contact with the Vulcans.
The companion had possessed Admiral Nancy Hedford. Cochrane introduced his species to the Vulcans by way of his super impellor research, what they would call the logic of the situation Buddha, Micah Brack, Zefram Cochrane, there were Fig trees on Alpha Centuri waiting for the moments of New Thoughts.
“Wheels had become Passé on Earth, where energy had passed into the golden age of Fusion reactors and sarium krellide batteries with virtually energy density.”(p.194)
Zephram’s wife Monica, who died was an optimist who always looked towards the future the future which Cochrane had created, she believed. Cochrane had changed the course of human history when he had met the Vulcans.
“The lack of Crime on the colony worlds had once given Cochrane hope that perhaps there were some parts of human nature that have been left forever in the past, burned in the fires with threw ashes of the Optimum.”(p. 196)
Someone took Monica’s life and they were trying to figure out whom, but since there wasn’t a real criminal investigation force, they had to send the evidence to Earth. The Optimum Movement was brought to light by Cochrane as a killer. Thorson Cochran’s enemy was confirmed as Monica’s killer by a call to Cochrane.
Metamorphosis
The Optimum movement had closed the universities, medical care was considered luxurious. Age, health status equals wrong color as well as wrong religion. With the last World War the people unanimously guaranteed no war would consume the Earth again.
There was an enormous universe and no time for conflicts. Humanity ended old ways and learned new. The universe is always of opportunities. Cochrane was in space 40 days and so he became being delusional.
He imagined a cloud was communicating telepathically with him. He landed on a planet with this cloud; it brought his youth back to him. Picard got Cochrane off a Romulan vessel. A ripple went through the whole Enterprise due to a Romulan Fire and the Enterprise being on the fringe of the phaser fire. The Enterprise was cloaked. They destroyed a Romulan Ship within ramming speed.
“The unexpected had a way of continuing to turn up on this voyage. (p. 274)”
Cochrane is traveling in time on both Enterprises.
Cochrane taught “Every time you were transported you were killed—what comes out the other end is just a duplicate that thinks it’s original. (Cochrane p.279)”
Cochrane was “The scientist who had never felt there would be enough time to do and learned that he might. (p. 282).
The companion was making that possible and captivating him in the process. Once as a child, he had dreamt of a bubble twisting within a bubble so that both twisted up together. From that dream he had given humanity the stars. The commander of the Klingon ship was Adrick Thorson, who was the most corrupt individual ever...

The companion was making that possible and captivating him in the process. Once as a child, he had dreamt of a bubble twisting within a bubble so that both twisted up together. From that dream he had given humanity the stars. The commander of the Klingon ship was Adrick Thorson.
Thorson used technology to keep him alive. He was the first Gridets who were the predecessor of the Borg and designed them. In the Federation it was outlawed to use such technology.
“There will always be war….that is the nature of the beast. (Thorson p. 302)”
WWIII was fought over an ancient experiment that meant nothing.
“Technology is neutral. (Cochrane 308)”
Laforge and Data are studying the Borg artifact. The artifact had the basis of Warp Technology. The artifact took over the ships computer. Picard phased it. But the ship did not stop. It took out the atmosphere forcefield; Picard almost got sucked out into space.
“When we become as much as we are we know each hour with you was numbered, each moment spent was a moment less them the time we would have. But we have had those six months, and we will have years to come before we are no more. (Companion 328-329)”
Picard and his crew are going to open a singularity by exploding a shuttlecraft inside a star that is going to die. Cochrane volunteered himself for the safety of the Enterprise. The Companion was taking the Enterprise into a Black hole. The Companion said it could emerge. With Cochrane’s trust they let the Companion do this.
Data rescued Picard, Wesley and Laforge from the vacuum of space. Data managed to open a shuttlecraft and put them all inside it. Picard’s Enterprise went inadvertently back in time to Kirks Enterprise. Kirk is going to slingshot around Picard’s Enterprise to prevent both from destruction from a singularity of a star exploding. Both captains’ were considering “The Prisoners Dilemma” which is the dilemma two prisoners would face when they got out of jail if they couldn’t communicate. Kirk was counting on the ideals of the Federation to save both ships. Of course Spock had to say, “You’re reasoning is most illogical, captain.”
This logic required calling a buff. Picard’s reasoning had to do with the ideals he was sworn to defend. They mysteriously both received a message of confirmation and gratitude. In that instance Cochrane saw the beauty of both Enterprises from the Shuttlecraft he was in. Kirks Enterprise has beaten the odds yet again by escaping a black hole. Picard’s Enterprise got the shuttlecraft that Kirk sent out with Cochrane and the Companion and were taking them to the companions home world but found out it was destroyed. Since she was symbiotically entwined with the planet both the body as well as the Companion entity was dying because of the trauma she endured in Kirks Era. Data recovered from the Thorson Virus. Picard beamed the preserver virus into space and destroyed it. They lost both the Companion as well as Cochrane, Right before Cochrane died he magically floated from his bed and asked Picard if he could hear them to which Picard replied he could.
Zephram Cochrane was at a party in his honor and was stargazing and wanted to be out there and not at the party. Picard got the letter Kirk wrote about the inter-dimensional travel of Cochrane. The adventure is always just begun. The Adventure began and not even the Guardian knew how it would end. Thorson was first Borg. The Borg were made by Grigari. They had begun an invisible mechanical plague infecting computers as well as Starships.
